Throughout 2022, there have been many songs that have sung their way into our hearts, strengthening us in our low moments and giving us a platform to praise from in our best moments. Some songs have stuck in our heads more than others, compelling us to replay them again and again because of how meaningful they are to us. Join us as we look back at 10 unforgettable songs on Air1 this year!

 

“How You Love Me” - Patrick Mayberry

Kicking off our list is the most played song of the year, Patrick Mayberry’s “How You Love Me”. This song holds to the spirit of awe and reverence for Christ and everything He has done for us in our lives. The song’s energy slowly builds, showing the power of God in the small, still voice, before eventually ramping up into a crescendo of powerfully expressed faith. This song shows us that even when we feel like we are not good enough and even when we feel like hiding, God’s amazing love can still reach us.

This song gives us a powerful reminder that God has provided for us through those storms. He’s never failed and he won’t start now.

It is so important to look back and recognize all that God has already brought us through. With all that we endured in the past few years, 2022 brought a new sense of hope for many. Every year brings new mountains to climb and it is easy to let new struggles discourage us, rather than pushing through them. Iveth Luna’s “In You” is a call to faith that empowers us to keep our eyes on the One who gives us strength, even in the midst of our trials. When we learn to rest in Him, there is no giant too tall to slay and there is no valley too deep to climb out of. We can do all things with Christ, as long as we are putting our faith in Him, rather than trying to make a miracle ourselves.

“Hymn Of Heaven” - Phil Wickham

With a reverent, awestruck sound that reflects the image of standing before Christ in His glory, Wickham’s hymn is able to produce astonishment for the God we serve like few other songs can. Like Wickham, we cannot wait to see the fulfillment of every promise that God has given and worship Him like never before. To remind us of that beautiful future, we haven’t been able to stop listening to this one.
