Tauren Wells continues his worship era with “Bless Your Name,” a tender declaration of praise. The piano-led original begins with a sincere offering of the heart and quietly crescendos into an anthem of unabashed adoration.
“Wondering what you have that God would want? You. It’s you,” Wells affirms, echoing the message of his new song. “You don’t have to get good to get to God. He’s been waiting on you. Lay your heart on the altar. Trust in His goodness. Watch Him move.”
For the recording, Wells and his collaborators — Colby Wedgeworth and Jonathan Gamble — drew inspiration from an array of Scripture passages that command us to bestow honor on the name of Jesus, including Psalm 113:2-3: “Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever. Everywhere — from east to west — praise the name of the Lord.”
Wells’ soulful vocal is clear and sure as he humbly delivers another Congregational friendly selection.
“Bless Your Name” is one of 16 tracks that comprise the singer-songwriter’s latest full-length project, “Breathe On It.” In addition to the acclaimed title cut, the collection also houses selections like “Making Room” and “Let The Church Sing” — reflecting a fresh chapter for Wells as he pens songs for his congregants at the Church of Whitestone where he pastors.
In addition to shepherding the church he and his wife founded in 2024, Wells continues to host his podcast, “The High Note.” Moreover, his weekly sermons can now be heard on AccessMore’s “Whitestone Messages.”
The father of four recently completed a stint of headlining dates, as well as an arena run supporting Phil Wickham on Wickham’s “Song Of The Saints Tour.” He’s set to reprise his role as host of the 57th annual GMA Dove Awards Oct. 6 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
