New Song Feature: "Seen" Tauren Wells

You are seen, known and loved by the God of the universe. That’s the message Tauren Wells and Katie Torwalt hope gets imprinted on your heart as you listen to their new song, “Seen.” Together, the duo attests that you don’t have anything to prove because you’re already perfectly loved.

“You were created on purpose for a purpose. You were created by love, for love. You were created by greatness, for greatness. Your past mistakes and triumphs, your present struggles and strengths will be used by God when they are surrendered to God,” the hitmaker attests. “You have permission to throw off fear, insecurity, or the doubt that holds you back. You have permission to become all that God has called you to be.”

The fresh R&B collaboration is found on Wells’ four-song EP, “Take It All Back,” as well as the 19-track expanded edition of his latest LP, “Joy in the Morning.”

Torwalt’s effortless voice is the perfect match for Wells’ falsetto, which is on full display across the pristinely produced track. “When nobody does, You care. I am a treasure You keep,” Wells and Torwalt proclaim, their voices seamlessly harmonizing. “When I think I’m alone, You’re there. You see, You see.”

Our Heavenly Father’s pure pride and admiration for His children is a recurring theme that shows up often in the “Known” singer’s music. This time around, he penned the intimate pop single with fellow Christian artist Riley Clemmons and respected songwriters Chuck Butler and Emily Weisband.

“Seen” is the latest in a string of collaborations Wells has facilitated. In addition to Torwalt, he’s also recently invited an array of diverse artists, including Elevation Worship, We The Kingdom, Davies, DOE and Lecrae, among others, to feature on his original songs.

While writing and recording remain a significant part of his ministry, at the top of the year, Wells and his wife, Lorna, realized a long-held dream when they launched the Church of Whitestone in Austin, Texas. The couple will lead the congregation as Wells continues to pursue his solo career in music.
