Phil Wickham and Crowder deliver a triumphant reimagining of one of the most well-known hymns of all time on “It Really Is Amazing Grace,” a track they’re choosing to file under “praise party.” Elevating the sacred ballad into an upbeat anthem, the two chart-topping artists keep the original verses but add a brand-new chorus and bridge. Wickham helms verse one, while Crowder drives the second verse. Together, the two seasoned worship leaders harmonize alongside a choir of voices that immediately makes “It Really Is Amazing Grace” a surefire hit.
“I’ve sung this song my whole life, and it never gets old. Every time I hear it, I’m reminded of His forgiveness, His grace, and how deeply I need both. So excited to keep singing these lyrics in a new way. 250 years later, and this hymn still carries so much power. So grateful for these timeless lyrics and all the moments I’ve had with Jesus through them,” Wickham enthuses. “I hope you’re reminded today of the amazing grace God has given you.”
Premiering as an Air1 Worship First single, “It Really Is Amazing Grace” opens Wickham’s freshly minted “Song Of The Saints (Deluxe),” a 34-track project that extends his latest studio release with fresh collaborations, live captures and remixes.
Crowder debuted the new song earlier this year at Passion 2026 and continued singing it on the recently wrapped “Hits Deep Tour,” whose powerhouse lineup also featured TobyMac and Jeremy Camp. Meanwhile, Wickham performed it for the first time at Orlando’s Rock The Universe at the end of January and has also been sharing it on his “Song Of The Saints” arena run this spring.
This isn’t the first time Wickham has breathed new life into a classic. His updated iteration of Rich Mullins’ “Awesome God,” via “What An Awesome God,” notched the SoCal native a massive multi-format No. 1.
