There's something special about watching two friends talk about Jesus, and that's exactly the energy Brooke Ligertwood and Air1's Lacy brought to the Air1 Studios in Nashville. Settling in for a conversation that felt more like a coffee date than an interview, Ligertwood opened up about her highly anticipated new album, "EAT," releasing May 15. Artistic, deeply scriptural and unafraid to sit in the weight of God's Word, the project pulls its lyrics straight from the pages of Scripture, often word for word.
"I didn't choose the Scriptures, the Scriptures chose me," Ligertwood shared, describing a posture of surrender that shaped the entire creative process. "I feel like God was driving the whole thing and I was in the passenger seat."
That same humility threads through every layer of "EAT," from its lead single "Even Death On A Cross" featuring Abbie Gamboa, rooted in the powerful words of Philippians 2, to standout collaborations with Lauren Daigle and The New Respects. As Ligertwood puts it, "This album is called 'EAT,' but I'm not the chef, I'm the waiter." It's a fitting picture of an artist, content to serve up what God has prepared, trusting the table He's set will nourish the Church for years to come.
"EAT" by Brooke Ligertwood is out May 15 2026 on all major streaming platforms.
