Ryan Ellis always had a passion for music, but it would not become his main vocation until he was ready for it. Spending five years in the U.S. Navy, Ellis served on a tour of duty in Afghanistan. After this time in service to his country, Elllis would begin flexing his musical muscles, being a founding member of the Jabbawockeez hip-hop dance team. Ellis soon had a change of worldview, falling in love with Jesus and becoming the worship leader of Isla Vista Upper Room.

The artist continued to grow his musical skill over time, and by the late 2010’s he would be writing songs for worship artists like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Natalie Grant, and more. In 2018, he would even earn a Dove Award nomination for his work on Chris Tomlin’s “Resurrection Power”. The next year, Ellis’ solo career would truly launch with the release of the EP’s “Live From the Upper Room II” and “Kingdom Glory”.

In 2021, Ellis signed on with the Provident Label Group to release successful singles such as “Heart of the Father” and “All My Praise”. In 2022, his self-titled, full-length album with Provident would release, featuring songs like “Son Of David” and “Gonna be Alright”. Thus far, this artist’s music has inspired us and given us strength. It looks like Ellis is only just getting started, and we cannot wait to hear what he does next.

A devoted husband and father, Ellis is always looking to share the heart of our heavenly father through his music.

“these songs came from the realest place and will forever remind me of what we've been through… but mostly what God did. It’s really hard to put your heart and soul into music but I'm thankful for all that God is doing with it and all I'm learning.” - Ryan Ellis
