God rules over all creation. There is nothing outside of His control. Wherever we go and whatever we do, God is always there to protect us. We can trust in His good and perfect will to lead us closer to His heart. As we read His Word, His Spirit guides us into all truth, where we find refuge in our great God.
1. Guarded Against Evil
But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. And we are confident in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we commanded you. May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ. – 2 Thessalonians 3:3-5 NLT
2. God Is Our Refuge
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge. – Psalm 62:5-8 NLT
3. Help in Times of Trouble
In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May He send you help from His sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. – Psalm 20:1-3 NLT
4. God Will Protect
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge! A river brings joy to the city of our God, the sacred home of the Most High. God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed. From the very break of day, God will protect it. – Psalm 46:1-5 NLT
5. Our Hiding Place
For You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” – Psalm 32:7-8 NLT
6. No Fear
…For God has said, “I will not fail you. I will not abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my Helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” – Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT
7. A Prayer for Safety
Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to You for refuge. I said to the LORD, “You are my Master! Everything good I have comes from You.” – Psalm 16:1-2 NLT
8. Our Shield and Safety
I love you, LORD; You are my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies. – Psalm 18:1-3 NLT
9. The Lord Fights for Us
But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The LORD Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” – Exodus 14:13-14 NLT
10. Source of Hope
You are my refuge and my shield; Your Word is my source of hope.” – Psalm 119:114 NLT
