All Creation Worships

Read the transcript from today's video devotional.

Initially, this verse seems silly. Kind of like a cartoon. Almost the only time we've ever seen fish talk or plants sing is in something that isn't real. This is very real. So, what is the author trying to communicate to us? Let’s take a step back and look through the poetry. He's saying that all creation worships God, and it doesn't matter what it is or where it's at, everything was created by God for His glory.

When you think about the anticipation we all have in waiting for the arrival of Jesus, when He comes back for us, everything is yearning for Him. Jesus even talks to some people in Scripture and reminds them, if people, the ones that I created, if people didn't worship, the rocks would cry out.

He's saying everything was created to bring Him glory. Here's a challenge for us today. If all of creation is worshiping Jesus, how are we doing? The world around us is screaming and shouting and bringing Him glory. Remember, through poetry, the author is saying all of creation is doing this. What does our worship look like? How are we showing God that we're ready for Him?

Unreserved Worship

How are we worshiping Jesus in everything we do? Sometimes I feel like we can feel a little reserved and feel the eyes of people around us and think, if I do that, what are they going to think? Look at creation as a whole—look at how beautiful a field of flowers can be, or how loud a waterfall sounds, or how deep and dark and spacious the sky is at night when you see the stars sparkling.

All of these things are overwhelmingly beautiful and they aren't afraid to express their beauty to the Lord. When we worship God, there are times we feel hesitant, like we need to hold back. But what if we took a few lessons from the ocean, or from creation, or from the stars, and just allowed our worship to Him to be unreserved? How are you worshiping the Lord in your daily life?

Give Him Everything

It could be through music. It could be through your work, or through your family. If you're doing everything for Jesus, that's worship. If your heart is engaged with Him and you say, God, I want to give you everything I have today. That's a worshipful heart. Will you give it all to Him? Will you hold something back?

I promise you in your worship journey, as you're learning how to dig in with Him and give Him everything, there's grace for you. God's not looking at you and saying, well, I wish he would have done this otherwise. He's not saying that at all. He just wants your heart. So, how are you worshiping today? What can you give to Him? I promise if you do it with a heart that's to honor and to love, He'll hear you.
