Air1 New Song Feature: "I Choose You" Jon Reddick

Jon Reddick pledges his unwavering allegiance to Jesus on his new offering, “I Choose You.” Co-written with award-winning songwriters, Ethan Hulse and Jonathan Smith, the mid-tempo track finds Reddick repeatedly surrendering every facet of his life to the Lord.

Repenting of his tendency to get distracted and admitting he’s turned his attention other places, Reddick redirects his full focus toward the Father and His ways, trading what is good for what is best. On the song’s powerful bridge, he declares, “If You’re not in it, I don’t want it. Here’s my heart, take all of it. If You say follow, God I’m running to You.”

Air1 listeners were the first to hear the tender confessional as “I Choose You” was one of five select songs the global worship network premiered in the days leading up to the release of “No Fear,” Reddick’s highly anticipated sophomore effort.

On “I Choose You,” the singer-songwriter showcases a soulful vocal alongside poignant lyrics that proclaim his loyalty to Christ. He concedes there’s no greater love, and he promises to always choose Jesus, because He chose us first.

The song calls to mind John 15:16, which says, “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”

The earnest “I Choose You” follows the chart-topping title cut of his album, “No Fear.” A departure from his typical congregational-friendly faire, “No Fear” earned Reddick the first No. 1 of his career thanks to the fresh country-tinged direction of the single and its resonant message.

Reddick is poised to share “I Choose You,” and other anchor selections from “No Fear,” in cities across the country this fall on CAIN’s “Live & In Color Tour.” The outing is also scheduled to feature rising duo Caleb & John and author and podcast host Annie F. Downs.
