Gateway Worship leans into the steady promises of God on “Best Days.” Helmed by worship leader Matt Janney, “Best Days” serves as a universal declaration of hope and the theme song for Gateway Church’s latest sermon series as the congregation celebrates the one-year anniversary of new leadership and looks toward the future.
Written by Josiah Funderburk, Kyle Lee and Mark Harris, the upbeat anthem is built on lyrics rooted in multiple passages of Scripture, including the familiar verse found in Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope,’” as well as the truth delivered in 2 Corinthians 5:7: “For we live by believing and not by seeing.”
“God is with you. Whatever you may be facing right now, be reminded that He is with you, and He has good plans for you,” the group collectively posted on Instagram, sharing the message behind the single. “When you walk with God, your best days are always ahead!”
The song speaks to moving forward in spite of fear, disappointment or heartache; and testifies to the power of perseverance.
