There is a longing in every human heart, a quiet ache that no earthly comfort can fully quiet. We were made for more than this side of eternity, and deep down, we know it. Phil Wickham has spent his career putting language to that holy restlessness, and "Homesick for Heaven" may be his most tender expression of it yet.
Co-written with longtime collaborator Jonathan Smith, the song began with a single line: "I want to see my children run to Your arms." From there, it became something much larger: a portrait of every human heart made for the presence of God.
