Beloved Elevation Worship vocalist Tiffany Hudson leads a slow-burning ballad entitled “The Wonderful Blood,” which also features Florida-bred worship leader John Wilds. Focusing on the finished work of the cross and the incredible significance that moment holds for believers, “The Wonderful Blood” was recorded during an intimate worship gathering on Hudson’s home turf at Elevation Church.
The original version captures nearly nine minutes of vivid, articulate lyrics penned by Hudson, Josh Holiday (Elevation Rhythm), Robert Lowry and Abbie Gamboa. The stunning portrait that adorns the cover art was developed by the creative team at Elevation after Hudson gave them a lone sample lyric from the selection:
The precious fountain
From Calvary’s mountain
Flowing down to you and I
“I feel like many songs about the blood and the cross carry a somber, reflective tone, which is needed and beautiful; but this song carries a very triumphant feeling,” Hudson observes. “I just think we’ll never outgrow singing about the blood of Jesus and the sacrifice He paid for us.”
Deep into the reverent track, Hudson and Wilds confidently interpolate the familiar refrain from “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus,” elevating the offering into something of a modern-day hymn.
“Tiffany is a rare gift, and I’m thankful for her life and ministry,” Wilds says of collaborating with Hudson. “We’ve known each other for several years, and she has remained consistent in her passion for the Lord. It’s remarkable.”
Hudson and Wilds’ rendering of “The Wonderful Blood” appears on her second solo effort, “When You’re In The Room.” Wilds is also featured on the project’s “Room,” from which the collection’s title is derived. The album, recorded across extended evenings of worship and prayer held at Elevation Church, serves as the follow-up to Hudson’s devotional debut, “Hidden Here,” which bowed in 2023.
Fans can hear some of the wife and mom’s solo work, as well as Elevation Worship favorites she so beautifully stewards, as Hudson headlines two nights of worship in South Africa in August. This fall, she’ll head back out on the road with Elevation Worship as the collective’s “Elevation Nights” tour hits another round of cities across the U.S.
