Would you like to know a secret? I have one for you today. It’s a good one. It’s good because it comes from God’s Word.
Our Verse of the Day is Daniel chapter 2, verse 20. "He said, 'Praise the name of God forever and ever, for He has all wisdom and power.'"
The Secret God Revealed
I started this off by asking if you wanted to know a secret, because in verse 19, just before our Verse of the Day, it says God revealed the secret to Daniel. Well, why would he say it that way? It’s because Daniel in this chapter is tasked with interpreting a dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, and this is what God gave him in order to deliver to the people. God, good like He is, gave him exactly what he needed. What He gave him was the secret.
Guess what? It’s just as relevant for our lives today, yours and mine, because we go through all types of things in our life as well. There are situations and circumstances we face where we’re not sure which way to turn or what to do, or what the answer may be.
Where Do You Turn for Answers?
Have you ever looked to the internet for answers? Oh, don’t get me started. Have you ever looked to ChatGPT for your answers? Is that the go-to now? As soon as you get a dilemma, the first thing you do is go to ChatGPT, Claude, whatever artificial intelligence you use. I’m not against artificial intelligence, but I do believe that should not be the first place we turn for wisdom if we are people of faith in God.
The secret that I learned from Daniel, that God revealed directly to him, is that we should be praising God’s name and seeking Him every single day. Why? Because He has all wisdom and power.
Wisdom and Power
What does wisdom do for you? Well, wisdom is your guide. That’s God’s plan to help you navigate every single situation or circumstance or adverse situation you will ever face. God’s wisdom is the solution. You have to be careful to not allow yourself to turn to other things before turning to Him, because He’s going to guide you.
Guess what? He’s not just going to give you directions. He is the power. He’s going to give you the strength and power you need in order to reach your goals and your destination. When you feel like things get a little tougher, or you’re a little bit lacking in the strength department, that’s where we lean into His power.
Praise His Name Forever and Ever
How do we get access to it? Well, that comes from the first part of this verse, which is by praising His name, praising the name of God forever and ever. Not just now. Not just when you’re in a tough situation or when you’re in a good situation. You must always be praising the name of God.
What is more fitting than one of our Bible heroes to be the one to share this with us? You know the story of Daniel like I do. Maybe you don’t. You should go and read it a little bit later. Daniel gets tossed into a lions’ den, a pit with real lions, yet he has an opportunity to practice exactly what we see here. You know what he did? He praised the name of God forever and ever. Because of that, he stayed in the lions’ den and was unharmed, because he remembered the secret that God gave him.
Where Can You Implement This Secret?
Where can you implement this secret? What area of your life do you need to practice your faith in praising God so that it activates His wisdom and His power in your life? What area should you be praising a little bit more instead of complaining a little bit? What area should you be focused on praising His name forever and ever, instead of focusing on the things that maybe aren’t aligning with where you feel like your life should be going?
If you remember to praise His name, you will lean into His wisdom, and you will have access to His power. Through His divine power, you will be able to accomplish every single thing you need to do that God called your heart to do on this earth. Keep doing that, and watch the beautiful, wonderful results that come from your choice to keep praising Him.
