Kicking off 2026 with a faith-elevating track, Tauren Wells releases “Breathe On It.” Asking God to breathe life into broken and barren places, Wells prays for revival in our cities, in our churches, in our neighborhoods and in our families. Casting both a deep and wide net, the heartfelt plea — penned by Wells, Colby Wedgeworth and Jonathan Gamble — speaks to God’s authority and supremacy over everything.

“Can I offer you a prayer for the new year? It’s simple, but I believe it’s powerful,” the singer-songwriter declares. “I’m asking God to breathe on it; nothing done out of my own striving or strength but carried along by the wind of His spirit. I have a holy expectation that it could change…everything.”
From the breath He breathed into Adam’s lungs in the garden of Eden to the breath He breathed into the dead body of Lazarus to the dry bones He brought to life in the darkest of valleys, the song’s bridge namechecks a host of instances in the Bible where God’s very breath became life-saving fuel. The same is true for us today: When we invite God to breathe on any area of our lives, transformation is not just possible, it’s expected.

“Breathe On It,” which premiered as an Air1 Worship First single, is another installment in a steady stream of releases that showcase Wells tapping into his pastoral voice, and for good reason. In 2024, he and his wife, Lorna, launched Church of Whitestone, where he serves as the lead pastor.

The father of four, however, isn’t taking a hiatus from music any time soon. In fact, he’ll be recording a live worship project in his current hometown of Austin, Texas, on Feb. 18, 2026. Moreover, this spring, the “Making Room” singer will headline his own “Take It All Back Tour,” as well as provide direct support on Phil Wickham’s highly anticipated arena run via the “Song Of The Saints Tour.”
