Congratulations, graduates! Graduation is an exciting milestone in our lives as we look back with friends and family and celebrate all we have accomplished. We are grateful to the Lord for giving us the ability to complete these goals, as He has undoubtedly empowered us with every breath through our educational journey.

However, after the celebration ends, it can be a challenging transition season for those looking for a fulfilling career or to further their education. So to help you navigate the next stage of your journey, we have provided Scripture-empowered prayers to set your focus in the right direction, which will alleviate the anxiety and stress that can easily overcome you in this stage of life.

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. – Psalm 37:23 NLT

Lord, I pray that my trust in You would become more authentically wholehearted, as I recognize that You are always wholehearted in Your love toward me. With all the decisions to be made, I choose to make myself dependent on You and Your wisdom. I turn away from my own understanding and lean upon the perfect guidance of the Word of God. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5 NLT

Lord, thank You that You are a trustworthy Father who I can put all my hopes in. I know I never have to fear or worry about the future because You hold me in the palm of Your hand. Guide me and direct me through this next season of my life. I pray that every decision I make would be in line with Your will and would ultimately bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. – Proverbs 3:6 NLT

Jesus, I declare that Your way is the best path for me to take. May my heart seek after You and follow the destiny and assignments You have for me to accomplish. I’m looking for Your path of righteousness, and I’m following Your still small voice, which always leads me in faith and wisdom to best serve others. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor. – James 4:10 NLT

I thank You, Lord, for the gift of being able to humble myself before You. I pray that I will learn to regularly take the path of humility as I journey through life. As I choose to put others first and turn away from self-promotion, I pray that my life will be patterned after the Lamb of God in thought, word, and deed. I let go of my own honor in this world in Your presence, and I place my future entirely in Your hands. In Your Son’s name, amen.

As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.” – 2 Corinthians 10:17 NLT

Father, I pray that my greatest boast before others would be in what You have done through Your Son Jesus. I resist the urge to brag about myself, preferring to highlight Your strength and ability in and through me. I give You all the honor and praise whenever You decide to use my skills for the glory of Your Son on the earth. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“…but all too quickly, the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.” – Mark 4:19 NLT

Jesus, I pray that my life would bring forth much fruit for Your glory. I choose to exchange my worries for your guaranteed faithfulness to me instead. I pray that Your splendor would fascinate my heart so that the lure of wealth would dwindle in light of Your magnificence. May my heart desire the true Vine above all things so that much fruit is produced. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. – Romans 12:2 NLT

Father, please transform me into the image of Your beloved Son. I intentionally surrender my whole life to You so that the temptations of this world have no power over me. I pray for the day-to-day renewal of my mind by the power of Your Word. May I know and understand Your will in all things. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. – Ephesians 6:10 NLT

Father, I pray that my greatest privilege and calling in this life would be to know Your Son, Jesus. As I commit my work and future endeavors to You, I set my heart on a course to know Jesus in depth and with much clarity. May the actual substance of my life, the wind in my sails and the strength of my heart, be in the ongoing experiential knowledge of Your Son and how exceedingly powerful, beautiful, and loving He is. In Jesus’ name, amen.
