DAY 1 || THE FATHER'S HEART
In the midst of chaos, in the face of fear, in spite of the difficulty – God is for you.
Your faith can be unshaken. Your hope can be anchored. Your future is secure. Why? Because you are dearly loved by your Heavenly Father. And His heart is to bless you!
My husband, Cody, and I were in Charlotte, North Carolina when we wrote the song, "The Blessing". We had been with Pastor Steven Furtick and Chris Brown from Elevation Worship for a day of writing when, as we were about to finish, Pastor Steven began singing around the Aaronic blessing in Numbers 6:24-26…
“‘May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace.’”
What transpired in the moments that followed was such a sweet gift from Father God. The song became us simply framing scripture into melody, putting to song the very words He spoke in Numbers 6.
It’s THE BLESSING from God over us. And in every season, especially those of loss and uncertainty, I’m so thankful we have His Word to remind us of His heart.
I pray the song encourages you, and that in the following days as I share more about the faithfulness of God and His heart to bless you, that you would know just how much He loves you and is for you.
