Have you ever spent time waiting on someone? You have an appointment and you show up early and they're late. While you're waiting, you're wondering, "Are they ever going to show up? I wonder what's caused them to be so late. Have they had a problem? An issue?" So you wait and you wait. Sometimes we can wait on the Lord.
The Bible says in Psalm chapter 136 and verse 4, "Give thanks to Him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever."
Waiting on God
Sometimes we can be waiting on God to show up. We pray and we ask and we wait. His love endures forever. This phrase is found in this particular Psalm 26 times, and it's a reminder that His love is faithful to us and that it is everlasting for us.
His love is not based on our circumstances. While we're waiting on God, God is actually working and He's working for our good. It reminds us also that God alone is the one who performs the miracles. It's not based on our circumstances. God is still holy even when our life is messy. We can see the great work of God from creation to the miracles that He does in our life.
Miracles Born of Love
The psalmist himself says, God is doing this in His own strength and in His own character. His love truly endures forever, for you and for me. God's miracles aren't just a display of His power for no reason. His miracles are a display of His love for us and His care for us, as well as meeting the needs in our life that we are so desperately waiting on.
The next time you're waiting and waiting, maybe we could spend some of that time praying. Praying as we wait and know that God knows exactly where we are and His timing is perfect, and He will do the miracle in your life that brings Him glory and honor. God's love endures forever.
