Air1 New Song Feature: "How Good It Is" Chris Tomlin

Following an extraordinary run with global anthem “Holy Forever,” Chris Tomlin returns with a shimmering declaration of praise courtesy of “How Good It Is.” Musically, he borrows colorful sonic elements from stadium-level bands like Coldplay. Lyrically, he takes his cues from King David.

“‘How Good It Is’ is a celebration of the greatness of God, the goodness of God and the faithfulness of God,” Tomlin offers. “Nearly every word is pulled directly from Scripture — from Psalm 92, 98, 100 and 113. When we sing it together, we’re proclaiming God’s Word, and there’s something powerful in that.”

His new song exudes the same vibrancy found in the Psalms that inspired it: “Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his.” (Psalm 100:1-3)

The chart-topping worship leader debuted his new single on “FOX & Friends,” where he also announced his 18th studio album, “The King Is Still The King,” scheduled for release Sept. 26, 2025. This summer, he took the dance-worthy original to iconic outdoor stages in New York and Maryland for a pair of memorable “Worship Under The Stars” concerts.

Tomlin will circle back to his roots this fall on a tour that will see him leading worship at large churches across America. Additionally, he’ll introduce fresh worship collective The Heritage, who’s been tapped to provide direct support for the 20-city outing.

It’s been a year of full-circle moments for Tomlin, who had the opportunity to bring his three daughters with him to Hawaii, where he performed at the end of June. Together, he and his wife, Lauren, introduced their girls to the beautiful island where they were married 15 years ago.

The father of three is slated to present at the upcoming 56th Annual GMA Dove Awards, held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Oct 7 and televised on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) Oct. 10.
