Rafael Sierra spoke with Lynnda Wangsgard, Director of the Weber County Library System (WCLS) about the different services and resources available at the library. Wangsgard spoke about her background and how she became par of WCLS. She explained how WCLS oversees several library branches serving Weber County, including one in North Ogden, Utah. Wangsgard talked about serving the community including during the pandemic. She spoke about the different resources they offer, including digital services like e-books, movies and learning programs for different age groups. She also spoke about more traditional assets like paperback books and getting a library card to access library resources. Wangsgard spoke about why she feels having a local library branch is important to the community and how some people can use it to come together. She described some ‘do’s and don’ts’ of the local library and how the library has evolved form being a ‘quiet’ place to a more dynamic place where people can come and share ideas, learn and interact.
