Jeanice Lee talks to Executive Director of Vashon HouseHold, Jason Johnson. Johnson says they develop and manage affordable housing on Vashon Island and are the only affordable housing non-profit on the island. Johnson shares that they have developed 88 units of rental housing and describes how they are a community land trust which means they own land and have developed single family homes for affordable first-time home ownership. Although they have a wait list, Johnson says they currently have units under construction. They serve Seniors, retirees, people with disabilities, families, and people experiencing extreme poverty.
