Peter Kaye speaks with Rayn Boncie of Things of My Very Own on the difficult topic of childhood abuse and neglect. Boncie shares her own story of abuse and how it was her motivation to help others through her founding of Things of My Very Own, a nonprofit serving the capital region and beyond by providing crisis intervention for children. She shares stories of local kiddos being taken out of abusive or neglectful situations and how they are flourishing today. Boncie also spotlights some of their post crisis programming like their entomology classes and how kids learn while healing and having fun.
