Kindra Ponzio talks with Major Rio Ray, Salvation Army Sac. Ray talks about some of the programs and giving kids a first chance because so many of them have had no opportunities put before them. They offer sports, music and arts to kids after school. He also adds that they have a low barrier shelter, transitional housing for families, rental and utility assistance.Ray tells us of 2 job training areas at the shelter, culinary and construction training. 90% of the students coming out of the programs have jobs.
