Jeanice Lee talks to Barbara Chavez, Executive Director of Military Outreach Mission San Diego. Chavez says they help Jr. enlisted military families with in-kind goods, events throughout the year to help lift their spirits and get them connected to other miliary families who are away from home. Chaves says their weekly distribution center 4426 Harbinson Ave in La Mesa is open Tuesdays 10:30am-1:30pm. Active military members can receive children’s clothing (12 & under), baby food/diapers, small household items and more. Appointments are needed unless it’s an emergency request.
