LOCAL Closer Look: Empire Mine State Historic Park Grass Valley CA

Kindra Ponzio talks with Jean Rhyne, State Park Interpreter, State Park Interpreted, Empire Mine State Historic Park. Rhyne gives some great history about the park and the Borne family that owned and established the mine. She says the mine was the largest gold producing mine in CA. Rhyne goes on to say the Borne family built an elaborate mansion along with a community hall surrounded by beautiful English gardens that can all be toured daily. She talks about the blacksmith shop that is in full operation, making items that you can purchase. Rhyne says it is a spectacular place to visit with something to do for all ages.
