Sarah Shaver speaks with Amanda Richardson, Executive Director of Clare House in Lancaster, PA which provides transitional housing for women with children experiencing temporary homelessness. Richardson says all mothers are employed full-time and the goal is to get them into jobs with livable wages and then get the family into affordable housing. She describes the two communal living homes, Clare and Harmony, and says upon arriving the women begin charting a path to success with the case manager. Richardson notes they work to bring dignity to the families and remove stigma because homelessness can happen quickly for almost anyone.
