Ron Turner talks with Michelle Hansen, Director of Donor Relations and Communications with the Bay View Association of the United Methodist Church about the performing arts. Hansen explains the Chautauqua movement, which started in the mid to late 1800’s, was combination of four distinctive pillars; Arts, Education, Religion and Recreation in an effort to unite communities. Hansen describes these cultural disciplines help bring people together and how the Bay View Association is one of the few camps remaining across the country boasting a rich history offering wholesome family programs. Hanson talks about their Worship program which represents many Faiths as attendees experience various approach to Worship in an ecumenical setting. Hanson describes their Performing Arts and Conservatory Programs where students perform around the campus throughout the summer bringing an historical experience of days gone by. The Conservatory program is geared for college age students where Professors from the country’s most prestigious University teaching and mentoring studants on a personal one on one level.
