In his relatively short career as a recording artist, thus far, Seph Schlueter has introduced himself as something of a storyteller. His debut single, “Counting My Blessings,” a song about God’s unquantifiable goodness to us, earned the newcomer his first No. 1 at Christian radio and a slew of award nominations. Meanwhile, his second offering, “Running Back To You,” delivered another chart-topping hit mirroring the Prodigal Son narrative.

Now, the troubadour is leaning away from personal accounts and embracing his worship roots on “Words We’ll Sing Forever,” an unabashed anthem for the Church. The soaring declaration brings a little glimpse of Heaven to Earth as he invites listeners to sing the unending praise of a God who is loving, compassionate and kind beyond measure.

The poetic lyrics encapsulate the refrain of generations of believers:

"We could fill a thousand books with the stories of Your goodness
And still, it couldn’t capture who You are
You’ve been faithful every age
You are Alpha and Omega
The greatness of Your love sets you apart
Oh, let our worship sound like heaven
Singing the words we’ll sing forever
Singing holy, worthy
Singing glory in the highest"

“As someone who grew up in the church, the most powerful songs for me were the ones that took my eyes off of myself and lifted them to God. ‘Words We’ll Sing Forever’ is that song,” shares Schlueter, who was born in Pennsylvania but spent his pivotal teen years in Ohio, where he and his wife still reside. “It’s a song for the Church to sing and lift to the Lord. It’s a song for each individual to focus their attention on Christ. And it’s a song for Jesus, to praise and glorify Him.”

Back home, Schlueter remains an integral part of ministry-retreat organization Damascus. As a leader of their musical expression, Damascus Worship, Schlueter is committed to writing songs that not only draw from real-life experience but also serve the local church.
