The sixth 'Unplanned' Movie Scholarship was awarded from the stage on the final day of the 2023 Heartbeat International Annual Pregnancy Help Conference in Louisville, Ky.
In a surprise reveal, Unplanned Movie lead actress Ashley Bratcher announced via video message that a young lady named Kayla, a client of Lifehouse Maternity Home in Louisville, would receive a $15,000 scholarship to benefit her education.
The Unplanned Movie Scholarship offers educational scholarships to moms facing unplanned pregnancies so that they can continue pursuing their dreams while raising their babies.
“Women can pursue their careers, live out their dreams, and have richer, more fulfilling lives while balancing motherhood... sometimes it just takes a little help,” Bratcher said in the announcement. “I wanted to be a part of empowering mothers to chase their dreams and to provide a means for those who chose life to continue their education.”
The 'Unplanned' Movie Scholarship is a partnership with Ashley Bratcher and Heartbeat International. Bratcher explained how she wanted to help moms through the scholarship individually and on a broader scale, and highlighted the need to raise awareness for pregnancy help.
“I reached out to Heartbeat International because they have the largest network in the world,” she said. “Because not only did I want to help women, but I wanted to spread awareness for the pregnancy centers.”
Since 2020, six 'Unplanned' Movie Scholarships totaling more than $70,000 have been awarded to moms across the United States who are connected with a pregnancy help organization and pursuing their career aspirations.
