"Crowns Down" Gateway Worship feat. Josh Baldwin

Singer, songwriter and worship leader Josh Baldwin helms Gateway Worship’s regal new ballad, “Crowns Down.” As well as serving as the featured artist on the track, Baldwin is a co-writer on the song alongside Christine D’Clario, Mark Harris and Zac Rowe.

“It’s our prayer that this song will be a reminder to surrender everything before Jesus,” Gateway Worship offers of the message behind the moving selection. “He is the only One worthy of all praise, honor and glory!”

“Crowns Down” is the title-cut of the collective’s latest 10-song live offering, which released last fall. Matthew Harris, Claire Smith and David Mwonga are among the diverse array of vocalists represented on the collection of original music. Of the project as a whole, the group reiterates, “Our prayer is that you will be led into a place of complete surrender before the Lord and experience a new level of intimacy with Him through these songs.”

Gateway’s intimate single does just that, giving listeners a taste of heaven with its vivid descriptions of Christ’s majesty and affirming for fellow believers how, even on our best day, our greatest accomplishments are but a trophy at His feet. A snapshot of humbleness, “Crowns Down” extols God’s awe-inspiring splendor and our natural response to His grandeur and authority: total, genuine submission.

The bridge echoes the everlasting song filling eternity found in Revelation 4:8: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty — the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

Gateway Worship is the musical expression of the Dallas/Ft. Worth-based Gateway Church, led by pastor Robert Morris. With multiple campuses nationwide, Gateway Church ministers to more than 40,000 people in-person and tens of thousands more online each week.

In addition to “Crowns Down,” Baldwin can also currently be heard on “Made For More (feat. Jenn Johnson),” the title track from his own upcoming live record, debuting Mar. 1, 2024.
