For decades, Jenn Johnson has faithfully stewarded her gift of story and song as a worship leader, songwriter and vocalist. Now, she’s stepping out with her first solo project, “HAPPY,” due May 22, 2026. The fresh set features 12 new recordings and a host of collaborations with cameos from Tiffany Hudson (Elevation Worship), Brooke Ligertwood, Abbie Gamboa, Kari Jobe, Johnson’s husband, Brian, and her son, Malachi, among other special guests.
Offering listeners a vivid snapshot of Johnson’s everyday life, “HAPPY” delivers autobiographical moments marked by love, family and faith.
“My new album, ‘HAPPY,’ is a mosaic — a walk through my life,” the mother-of-five shares. “A mosaic is made from broken pieces that come together to create something beautiful. In many ways, that’s what life looks like. Moments of joy, moments of heartbreak, seasons of growing, and seasons of healing. But through it all, God is present. This album is both a testimony and a promise that no matter what we walk through, God is always putting the pieces together and making something beautiful.”
Lead single “Here In Your Arms” is an unabashed love song, rooted in country instrumentation and Johnson’s 25-year marriage. Meanwhile “Walk With Me,” featuring Hudson, traces the peace that comes when we allow the Lord to order our steps. Elsewhere, the raw vulnerability of “Mad At God” opens a window into a period of questions, pain and uncertainty for the songstress.
Known for writing stunning anthems of praise tailor-made for Sunday morning, including “Goodness Of God” and “Holy Forever,” Johnson ushers in a dozen intimate reflections on “HAPPY.” While deeply personal, each selection will undoubtedly resonate with a wide audience, who can relate to the wife and mom as she unfurls the layers of the relationships and values that mean the most to her.
The aptly titled record lives up to its name with its bright cover art, boasting Johnson in a hot pink set with matching heels and a dazzling blue backdrop lit up behind her. Like the contagious smile she wears in the image, listeners will be grinning ear-to-ear once they hear Johnson’s joyful debut.
