Jeanice Lee talks with Emily Scott the Executive Director of Vashon Maury Community Food Bank. Emily shares the history behind the food bank and what food insecurity is. She shares about the people they serve and the circumstances people are going through that has brought them to the food bank for assistance and the sacrifices she hears people share that they are making in order to eat. There is a simple intake form if you need to fill out if you need food assistance. Home delivery is available. No appointment is necessary - you can walk up. 10030 SW 210th St, Vashon WA 98070 - Located behind Sea Mar Vashon Medical Clinic. If you are interested in picking up groceries they are available Wednesdays 10am-2pm. Home deliveries are Wednesdays and Fridays - delivery day is based on your location on the island. Vashon Maury Community Food Bank offers many programs including some for children.
