Jeanice Lee talks to Stuart Schmidt, Program Manager and Head Athletic Trainer with The Center Foundation. Schmidt says their focus and goal is the health and safety of youth in the community who are participating in sports. They provide free access to sports medicine services, prevention education and various programs to reduce injuries by promoting health and safety, to prevent and raise awareness about concussions and to improve the overall health and well-being of an athlete. Schmidt says they serve 8 high schools in central OR where they have athletic trainers full time that attend over 14 hundred sporting events. Support is needed.
