Felipe Aguilar speaks with Mark Hilbelink, Executive Director, Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center (SHNC), about the concerns with homelessness in Austin and about what SHNC is doing to address the issue. Hilbelink discusses factors that lead to homeless and misconceptions that people have about unsheltered people. He also talks about the collaboration that takes place between SHNC and partner agencies regarding addressing homelessness. He describes opportunities for residents from throughout the community to get involved as volunteers at SHNC or at other organizations that are addressing homelessness in Austin.
