Joel Reagan speaks with Susan Crain Lewis, President and CEO of Mental Health America of the Heartland about their Compassionate Ear Warmline. This warmline differs from traditional hotlines (like the newly-established 988) by serving people who are struggling with their mental health but their situation has not risen to a crisis level. Crain Lewis explains the history of the service, the people served and the impact this service makes. The Compassionate Ear Warmline serves Kansas and Missouri and recently expanded its hours to 9 a.m.-9 p.m. every day (including holidays). The hotline is 913-281-2251 or 1-866-927-6327.
