Jeanice Lee talks to Ali Colbran, Director of Development with Feeding San Diego. Colbran says since 2007 they have provided over 330 million meals across the county. They do this is through food rescue which helps keep food out of the landfill and helps decrease environmental effects. Colbran says the pandemic put a spotlight on food insecurity, but it’s now worse due to inflation. Nearly 300,000 people are food insecure in S.D. which is 10% of the population. Colbran says they have a network of partners that help distribute food and a mobile food truck that will go to rural areas. Volunteers and donations are welcome. (FeedingSanDiego.org)
