New Song Feature "Everything That Has Breath" Jesus Culture & Bryan and Katie Torwalt

Bryan & Katie Torwalt kick off Jesus Culture’s latest live project, “Why Not Right Now?” with “Everything That Has Breath (Praise).” Just as Psalm 150:6 commands us, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord,” this reverent song of worship reminds us why Jesus is worthy to be praised.

The husband and wife duo lead the album’s powerful introduction by spotlighting the unmatched character of Christ — the very sustainer of life who is worthy of all praise.

“Praise is mentioned more than 200 times in the Bible, and not only is it a weapon in our hand, it is what we were created to do,” Katie shares of the foundation for the couple’s newest single. “Praise is our overflowing response to the revelation of God and all His goodness. Sometimes praise comes pouring out of us; and sometimes, like David, we command our soul to praise.”

In Psalm 103:1 King David writes, “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.” Like the “man after God’s own heart,” together, the Torwalts invite all those within the sound of their voice to allow praise to be our weapon of choice when we find ourselves fighting battles both seen and unseen.

“As we sat down to write about praise and bringing Jesus something that ‘costs us something,’ we were reminded again to bring our sacrifice of praise in all seasons,” Katie adds of the creative process that brought the selection to life. “He is worthy today and every day. We pray this song gives us a new language to lift our voices to Him!”

Bryan and Katie Torwalt, most well-known for their GRAMMY® Award-winning song, “Holy Spirit,” have been a part of preeminent worship collective Jesus Culture since 2010. Jesus Culture is also the name of the group’s local church based in Sacramento, Calif. The Jesus Culture movement itself is two-decades old with its genesis rooted in a gathering for young adults.

While the Torwalts’ “Everything That Has Breath (Praise)” finds its home on Jesus Culture’s first effort since 2020’s two-volume “Church” collection, “Why Not Right Now?” is helmed by an array of respected artists and worship leaders, including Derek Johnson, Chris Quilala, Chris McClarney and Lindy Cofer, among others.
