LOCAL Closer Look: Ashtabula County OH 4H Youth Development Programs

Posted on Monday, March 8, 2021 by Sarah Shaver

Sarah Shaver spoke with Jenna Hoyt, 4-H Youth Development Educator. Ms. Hoyt explained what the 4Hs stand for and what the pledge means. She talked about the history and how it’s changed from an agricultural club program to embrace STEM, the arts, and more, with their hands-on, learning by doing approach. The clubs can be in schools or the community, or SPIN clubs which are special interest clubs. Ohio 4H have over 200 projects for kids or they can do a self-determined project.
