Jack Church spoke with Alexandra Fields, Senior Manager, Outreach & Initiatives with CASA for DC Families. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates for children caught up in the family and juvenile court system. CASA volunteers help insure children are fully represented with the CASA volunteer providing important information to the child in terms they understand while also providing emotional support. Fields said there is an ongoing need for CASA volunteers and persons as young as 21 years of age can volunteer and serve following an extensive free training program.
