Jeanice Lee talks with Jennifer Friend, CEO of Project Hope Alliance which is committed to ending the cycle of homelessness one child at a time by placing case managers on public school campuses serving K – 12th grade. Project Hope Alliance stays with the children until the age of 24 to ensure they have an educational background or graduate from a trade school to be independent adults that end the cycle of homelessness. There are almost 30,000 kids are experiencing homelessness in O.C. and Friend says building trust between managers and students eliminates barriers that impede their ability to learn. Project Hope Alliance has been nationally recognized as one of the best models for ending childhood homelessness. (ProjectHopeAlliance.org)
