Angela Weimer-Miller, Program Director of the Boys and Girls Club in Somerset was Sarah Shaver’s guest. Ms. Miller talked about the BGC Somerset Clubhouse history and how their days go now, including the recent addition of a pre-school. She talked about how families can join and said scholarships are available for families that can’t afford the cost and they will not turn anyone away because they can’t afford it. The BGC Somerset kids learn and play hard, from doing homework to STEM projects, art, and gym and outside play. Ms. Miller said having the kids occupied in positive, guided activities in the after-school hours is very important because they aren’t just sitting watching TV or social media and are getting homework help. Teens now have an Artificial Intelligence program teamed with PPG.
