Recovery from substance abuse and other hurts and harms is vital for the recovery of a community. Sarah Shaver talks with Braun L. Lowrey, Ministry Leader of Open Door Fellowship about the differences between Celebrate Recovery (CR) and other 12-Step recovery programs. Lowrey says the opposite of addiction isn’t recovery – it’s connection -- and God desires us to connect with Him and other believers to heal. He also points to how dangerous the pandemic has been for people in substance abuse recovery because they have not been able to attend their meetings and have in-person support.
