Building 429 was joined by Dawn Michele of the band Fireflight to produce its latest song "Right Beside You," stressing the importance of encouraging one another as we walk through life.
"As a band we have been through some difficult times," explains leadsinger Jason Roy about the song "Right Beside You." "Recently, we made a vow to each other always to have each others’ backs and to stand as a team. We have since found what it means to be brothers, and 'Right Beside You' speaks to our newfound accountability as friends and in the war of this life. We wrote this song with a second verse designed for a female voice. I wanted to find someone who could deliver its message with intensity, and Dawn of Fireflight was the obvious choice. She KILLED it, and we are thrilled with the final version."
Inspired by the passage in Ephesians 4:29, the band Building 429 let's the verse guide its music and message: “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Lead singer Jason Roy formed Building 429 out of a desire to impact people by delivering the gospel through music. Coming from a broken childhood, music and church is where Jason found peace while growing up. The goal of the band’s album Listen To The Sound was to recognize the brokenness that exists in this world, but also the hope, grace and love that God provides.
“This record keeps coming back to the point that this is not what we were made for, that this is not our home,” explains Jason. “It is hitting people in the midst of a struggle, but it’s doing it in this pop kind of thing that makes you smile while you listen to it.”
