Brittany Nicole Waddell -known to her fans as Britt Nicole- has been singing and dancing ever since she was old enough to walk. Raised in Kannapolis, North Carolina, music has always been a part of her life.

However, Britt initially wondered if she had what it takes to be a professional performer...

“I started looking at myself and saying, 'But, God how are you going to use me? I'm broken and I don't even know if my voice is good enough to sing,'” Britt recalls. “God gave me a scripture that night. It was 1 Chronicles 28:20 and it said, 'Be strong and be courageous and do the work. Don't be afraid and don't be discouraged by the size of the task because the Lord my God is with you and He'll never fail you and He'll never forsake you.'”

It was at that moment she decided to turn down a scholarship to Nashville, Tennessee's Belmont University and instead pursued a career in music.

Her decision paid off, and in March 2007 Britt released her debut album Say It, consisting of the songs “You” and “Sunshine Girl.” "Sunshine Girl" was featured on MTV's Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County.  She followed that with her second album The Lost Get Found in November 2009. Her song “Walk On The Water,” from the album caught the attention of Hollywood and was heard on NBC's The Biggest Loser.

Britt's album Gold (2012) is true to her style with catchy melodies and inspiring lyrics. The album's first single “All This Time,” is about restoration and speaks of her own experience of finding God.

“The moment we started writing it I felt like this is the story of how I came to know Jesus,” Britt says to Air1. “It talks about the moment that I met Jesus which was when my parents were going through a divorce when I was seven-years-old.” Britt has been very candid about her parents divorce and how she has struggled to forgive them. “[When I forgave my parents,] It was a huge moment in my life of God lifting a huge weight off me that I didn't know I'd been carrying my whole life,” she says. “Forgiveness is really important. You might get hurt and you might not understand why you're going through what you're going through, but you have to let go, give it to God, put it in His hands, and forgive.”

Britt's latest album Britt Nicole (2016) includes the songs “Be The Change” and “Through Your Eyes.”
