If you have the ability for one more New Year's Resolution you may want to add this one to the list, it will give you more time and help you in so many other ways. There have been a number of former Facebook executives sharing about the negative impacts Facebook has on people and society and they know it. One such executive Chamath Palihapitiya, in a recent Relevant article, said “We have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works,” before recommending people take time away from platforms like Facebook.

Facebook and other social media is a great way to keep up with people but it's so easy to get pulled into the dark hole of chasing likes, comments and interactions. Science has found each one releases chemicals in our brains that make us feel good. The problem is how easy we get pulled into trying to get the next like or comment all the while leaving behind real-life community and people around us. I'm victim to this as much as anyone else, I do love Instagram, but after seeing articles like this it makes me wonder what life would be like if I didn't check Instagram and other social media every 30 seconds.
