• General rules for all contests and promotions broadcast on Air 1 Radio

Note: Individual contests may have their own special qualifications and eligibility rules.

    1. Unless otherwise excluded by law or by the rules applicable to a particular contest, Air1 contests are open to all Air1 listeners who are residents of the United States and 18 years or older.
    2. Employees, agents and immediate family members of Educational Media Foundation (parent company of Air1), its advertising agencies, sponsors, affiliates and representatives are not eligible to participate in Air1 contests. Immediate family members include spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren whether by current marriage, past marriage, adoption or as in-laws. All contests are void where prohibited by law. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY.
    3. All contest entries become the property of Air1. Air1 may withhold any or all contest entry materials for any reason station management deems crucial to the completion of the contest or for reasons relating to publicity or advertising. Each entrant may enter a contest only once, unless otherwise specified. In the case of multiple entries by the same person, all entries may be discarded and the entrant disqualified.
    4. Only one (1) person per household may qualify or win an Air1 contest within a 30 day period.
    5. Each entrant agrees that in the event he or she wins a contest, Air1 shall have the right, without further compensation, to publicize and/or broadcast his or her name, voice, likeness, city of residence and the fact that he or she won the contest. Entrants further agree that Air1 may use such identifying information to publicize its radio station, website and/or other contests. Contest winners agree that they may be contacted by telephone and the call recorded for potential use on air. All calls to Air1 are taped and may be aired on Air1 without further permission.
    6. Due to Internet delays beyond our control, Air1’s online stream may be delayed at times which can cause difficulty in participating in on-air contests. Online listening delays may vary depending on your Internet connection.
    7. Air1 is not responsible for service outages, connection speeds or other sources of delay in telephone and/or internet systems which may influence or affect the chances of winning a contest. In the event awards based on call-ins (a prize awarded to the "9th caller," etc.) Air1 reserves the right to disqualify two or more callers who appear to be “tied” and award the prize to the next caller. Callers may not place simultaneous calls on multiple phone lines.
    8. Air1 is not responsible for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by participants, printing or production errors, (b) technical failures of any kind, including malfunctions, interruptions, hardware or software, (c) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the sweepstakes, processing of entries, etc.
    9. Contest with prizes involving travel outside the United States are open only to citizens holding a valid United States Passport whose physical condition permits the entrant to safely travel to the destination. Air1 reserves the right to require proof that these entry requirements have been satisfied.
    10. Entrants are responsible for the payment of any and all taxes applicable to prizes and the award of prizes. Air1 is required to report winnings exceeding $600 per year (in the aggregate) to the Internal Revenue Service and will provide winners falling within this requirement with an IRS Form 1099 after the close of the calendar year in which the prize(s) were won. Winners agree to provide Air1 with their social security number and such other information as may be required by Air1 to comply with applicable laws.
    11. Air1 reserves the right to substitute another prize of equal or greater value for the prize originally announced if the original contest prize is or becomes unavailable. Air1 is not liable if a concert or event with which a prize is associated is canceled due to circumstances beyond Air1’s control. Unless impossible or impractical, prizes will be mailed to the winner within 60 days after the winner is selected and announced on air. Air1 is not responsible for any delays in receipt of prizes caused by the postal system.
    12. Winners may not request substitution or other consideration from the originally awarded prize.
    13. Prizes are non-transferable. Prizes have no cash value, expressed or implied.
    14. Entrants agree to release and hold harmless Air1 and its sponsors and affiliates, including Educational Media Foundation and its officers, agents and employees, from any and all damages, liabilities or claims for injury or damage of any kind that might arise in connection with a contest, a prize, or the award of a prize. Air1 reserves the right to condition the final award of any prize on the execution of a legally enforceable release of claims and indemnity agreement.
    15. Air1 reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or winner (whether or not the winner’s identity has been announced) who does not adhere to the rules applicable to the contest in which he or she entered or who gains an unfair advantage through fraud or unsportsmanlike conduct in participating in the contest.
    16. Unless otherwise stated, in order to claim a prize, potential winner must respond to Sponsor’s notification within forty-eight (48) hours of notice or attempted notice.
    17. If prize involves travel, potential winner must have all travel booked no more than 30 days after initial contact from Sponsor. If travel is not booked in that time, the prize will be considered forfeited.
    18. With respect to any disputes regarding contests, the decision of Air1 is final.
    19. All rules are subject to change without notice.
    20. In the event any contest specific rules conflict with these general rules, the contest specific rules shall control. On occasion, circumstances may require the rules of a contest to be modified. Air1 reserves the right to interpret and apply all rules applicable to its contests and its interpretation and application shall be final.
