Awe, we understand! Forms are – well, forms. Here’s a quick recap. You’ve donated to Air1, but for tax purposes you should report this as “EMF Broadcasting” (for inquiring minds, EMF stands for “Educational Media Foundation”). There’s some important info here! If you mail a gift, it must have a postmark with a December date. Anything postmarked January will be accounted for in the next giving year. So it’s always a good idea to confirm post office holidays, collection times and the fine print details. Credit card gifts given online or by phone through the 31st are time stamped and accounted for in the current tax year. The short answer? As long as the funds are received or mailed before the calendar year changes, it will be included.

We do keep track of incoming gifts by zip-code so we can credit your support to your local community. When an area reaches 100% funding, many donors give to help other areas. While we track by local area, we are always grateful for 100% funding overall.
If an area was at 100% last fund drive, it will often lose 30 to 40% of its financial support due to donors relocating to another area, loss of employment, catastrophic financial events and unfulfilled donations.
The goal you hear on the air is the difference or “replacement” percentage to get back to 100% funding.
If funding is not met for your area, after the fund Drive, the EMF Board of Directors will meet to determine how to allocate the resources given and the future of each station that were not fully-funded. Please know that all financial decisions are thoughtfully and prayerfully made.
Any business that financially supports Air1 with an annual gift of $1,200 or larger, or gives $100 or more each month, is eligible to be a Business Team Member. It’s a great way to share your business with the Air1 community. See a list of Business Team Member.
