Pastor Saeed Abedini, an American citizen, is currently on trial in Iran, facing a possible death sentence.  He's charged, essentially, with being a Christian.  While under house arrest, Saeed has been able to listen to Air1! His wife, Naghmeh, says he gets tremendous encouragement from being able to listen, even in the midst of what can be a brutal daily life.  He writes, now, that he is facing beatings in prison. His trial began today.

I think that Waded should live if it is Gods will it will happen. Let Iran know that we care what happents to our brothers. I grew up in Idaho for 10 its scary to think that any1 on a mission trip could be jailed and killed. My uncle went to whelp in Haiti after the hurricane and he was inprisoned for a month or so ......they don't feed u in Haiti prisons ......all in all I know what ur going through Saeed +family and it will end how God sees fit my uncle lived and ithink u will too

When I first heard of this and shared the news with other children of God, clearly shock and disgust filled their eyes. The Muslims have no sense of compassion much less truth, this much has been proven time and again historically through partitioned Cypress (1960's), Bosnia's bombardment etc.. I do not feel that we should be "yoked" with these people and other non Christ centered faiths. Clearly it will only create problems with dissension and don't we already have problems with that? My hope and prayer is for Jesus' glory to manifest in this situation and continued strength to our brother in Iran and sister in the States and continued strength and protection for all the children of God.

We know that ultimately God is in control.  I would like to see this pastor released back to his family.  Children of God, go back and pray the Lord's prayer.  God's will be done..in earth as it is in heaven.  Pray that this man has a soul winning impact right where he is now and that he claims more souls and victory for the kingdom of God.  Pray that his faith will remain strong and will not fail him when persecuted by the people who hate him because of religion, a godless nation.  I pray for comfort and peace for his wife and family, the love and support of people he has ministered too.  As followers of Christ, we have been commissioned to lay down our lives for the cause of Christ.  This pastor has been put in a situation where he has to overcome the fear of losing life and hold on to the promises we all cherish in the New Testament, Holy Bible.  Whichever way it turns out...to God be the glory.

  It is so hard on the family members when someone is away. I pray for continued strength of the family members of Saeed and peace to his wife and children. May God be with you at all times.
