Flyleaf prayer request

Flyleaf guitarist, Sameer, is asking us to pray for his 22 year old cousin, Esther. She was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in stage 4, the most advanced stage. Doctors told her that if she were older, they would've sent her home to spend the rest of her limited time in comfort. However, since she is 22, they are doing everything they can to help her.

Flyleaf is also doing everything they can. Sameer says Esther is like a sister to him. She does not have insurance, and the treatments are very expensive. There is a website set up to get as much help as possible: helpsaveesther.com. I'm sure they'll appreciate knowing their Air 1 family is praying and helping.

This kind of stuff always puts life in perspective. Check out what Esther herself has to say in her blog:

... we have the full faith that God is in total control of ALL things. Whether God grants me life or death in the near future, I know His plans are the most perfect ones, and it is such a joy to be alive and honestly doing GREAT today.

I want to praise and thank Him for this life and the great things He is teaching all of us through this. I can say that I am thankful for this time, because it puts life into great perspective and shows what is truly truly important.

Once again, thank you all for your love, encouragement, and prayers. I am thankful for each one of you in our lives."

Love always,
Esther Boyalapalli

Esther, thanks for the reminder that God is in control. We're praying for you!

Hawk Nelson's new CD comes out...

... October 6! I can't wait! It's called "Live Life Loud" and if you saw them on the Rock and Worship Roadshow, you already heard their new song "Meaning of Life". From the screams of the fans at the Roadshow, it's obvious people are already excited about the new Hawk songs! If you catch them on the road this summer, you'll be able to check out two new singles at their merch booth (and later this summer on iTunes and Amazon mp3.)

In the meantime, Hawk Nelson's working hard with TOMS shoes to get 5,000 pairs to children in need in Haiti. TOMS motto is "One for One": for every pair of TOMS shoes that is purchased, they give another pair away. So if you have a TOMS store near you, watch for Hawk in July. They'll be making six in-store "Style your Sole" appearances at TOMS stores to help meet their goal, and it might be at your local store!

Love TobyMac?

Here are two TobyMac videos for ya! Since I shared with you the "making of" this video in a previous blog, here's the actual video, plus a live performance of "Lose My Soul" at the 38th Gospel Music Awards. Nice hat, Toby!

New Newsboys at SWC Del Mar tonight!

If you happen to be at the Spirit West Coast Del Mar music festival this weekend, and you haven't seen the new Newsboys, they're the big show tonight! I'm saying the new Newsboys because this time, we won't see Peter Furler on stage. He announced he was stepping down as the band's frontman, and was excited to welcome Michael Tait (DC Talk) as the new lead singer. If you've ever seen DC Talk or Tait live, you know he's awesome. I'm excited about seeing him tonight at SWC Del Mar. Maybe I'll see you there, rockin' out somewhere in the crowd!
