Kathryn W. Miree received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law.  She spent fifteen years in various positions in the Trust Division of AmSouth Bank before joining Sterne, Agee & Leach to establish its trust company and serve as its President & CEO.  In 1997 she established Kathryn W. Miree & Associates, Inc.  Kathryn brings more than thirty years' experience working with nonprofit organizations and nonprofit boards to the Board of Educational Media Foundation.  

She is President of Kathryn W. Miree & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm located in Birmingham, Alabama that works with boards and staff of nonprofits and foundations to build fundraising platforms and establish fundraising strategies.

Over the span of her professional career, Kathryn served as President of the National Committee on Planned Giving, President of the Alabama Planned Giving Council, President of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham, and President of the Alabama Bankers Association Trust Division.

Also active in her community, Kathryn served as Chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, Chair of United Way of Central Alabama, and Chair of The Altamont School.

A frequent lecturer, Kathryn co-authored The Family Foundation Handbook and authored The Professional Advisor's Guide to Planned Giving.

She is a member of Independent Presbyterian Church where she's served in multiple roles, including Deacon, Elder, and Chair of the Independent Presbyterian Church Foundation.

Kathryn lives in Alabama with her husband Ben. They have two children Kyser and Harry.
