    Field Engineer II - Central Region

    Our Field Engineers are the first line of defense when maintaining our radio networks.  They make sure that we are on-air and transmitting at the best possible quality.  We have a huge responsibility to our listeners, broadcasting 24/7, 365 days/year, and our Field Engineers do not take this responsibility lightly. In addition to maintaining our existing signals, they are also involved with some pretty cool signal expansion projects!

    This position is a part of a National Engineering Team that has been blessed with technical resources unequal to many broadcasting companies in our country!

    This position is responsible for the Central Region.

    Qualification/Experience Requirements:

    Field Engineer II position is a mid-level broadcast engineering position that provides technical and engineering support to a variety of broadcast facilities in our Central Region, ensuring EMF programming is broadcast successfully and to the highest level of quality. The work performed takes place in a range of locations and work situations.

    Qualification/Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3+ years experience troubleshooting and repairing failures in broadcast electronic equipment – trouble shooting audio & RF issues in a radio transmission system.
    • Thorough understanding of the components necessary in a broadcast air-chain
    • Proven ability to deal with multiple, simultaneous problems in a systematic and logical manner
    • Ability to read and understand basic electronic schematics, electrical drawings, and construction drawings, making appropriate modifications when necessary
    • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to carry out calculations in common broadcast-related formulae such as transmitter efficiency, transmitter power output, wavelengths, and antenna system gain
    • Elementary understanding of satellite technology
    • Basic understanding of radio frequency emissions.
    • Ability to solder and de solder electronic components without causing damage to the components or PC board.
    • Knowledge of applicable, broadcast-related FCC rules and regulations.
    • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation. Ability to think logically from problem to solution. .
    • Proficiency with standard broadcast test equipment, such as VOMs, oscilloscopes, and RF spectrum analyzers.
    • Ability to work independently with a high level of integrity.
    • Proficiency with MS Office products and other common software (Internet browsers, etc.)
    • Candidates residing within the Central Time Zone preferred.

    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in electronics; or equivalent work experience in related field
    • FCC General License or Society of Broadcast Engineer (SBE) certification preferred.

    Job Travel Requirements: Up to 75% is expected

    Lead Events Team Representative -Houston, TX

    While our DJs may be the voice of the ministry, our Lead Events Team Representatives are the face of the ministry. THEY are the people that you see at the K-LOVE & Air1 booth when you go to large community events, concerts or festivals.

    First and foremost we are looking for someone who has the Passion for our mission "Create compelling media that inspires and encourages our listeners to have a meaningful relationship with Christ" in other words, it's not about us, it's all about our listeners and Him. Our culture is extremely unique, we are not like any other radio station you have ever listened to or worked for. Beyond that here are a few things you will be doing:

    Our Lead Events Team Representatives are the senior/lead members of a Promotions team.  They serve as a coach & mentor to Events Team Representatives in the area of promotional strategies, planning, techniques and best practices.   The Lead Events Team Representatives will lead the team to create awareness of the ministry within their community; you get to build relationships with community leaders, engage our listeners, create social media campaigns, expose the radio station to people who have never heard K-LOVE and Air1. You will collaborate with our creative department, philanthropy, business services and underwriters; AND deepen listener’s experience through service opportunities, ministry outreach, events and concerts within 3 hours of the local office.  Success will be measured by increased cume, web visits, donations, social media participation, listener attendance at events and involvement in ministry outreach. This position is based out of our Houston, TX office.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience planning, coordinating & executing promotional events within the radio, media or music industry.
    • Prior experience working in a supervisory role/coaching/leading.
    • Strong knowledge of radio promotional and marketing techniques.
    • Strong understanding of how to utilize social media in a promotional capacity.
    • Good understanding of the local market & how to best approach promotions within this market.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
    • Strong communication, public speaking and presentation skills. Personality and ability to create contagious enthusiasm.
    • Passionate, Creative, Energetic, pro-active, "gets our culture"
    • Self motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently; establishing and meeting performance/ministry goals
    • BS/BA degree in marketing, mass communication, public relations, or equivalent.

    Listener Services Representative - Swing Shift

    Our Listener Services Representatives serve as an extension of what is happening on-air.  They do this, one listener at a time, through every caller that they talk to, email that they respond to & social media post or response that they write.

    Their goal is to enhance the listener experience by offering accurate and timely responses. They strive to deliver one-touch service and by responding, solving and assisting listeners without having to re-direct them. The role of supporting and responding to listeners puts this team in a front line role, making it important to listen well, show empathy, effectively address the inquiry and use conversational communication.

    They problem solve using ministry guidelines while balancing this with creative service solutions, improvisation and discernment.  This is a high energy, fast-paced, fast-changing position.  Being successful in this role will be based on your understanding of who we are, knowledge of our audience and passion for our mission, values and beliefs.

    Here's what we're looking for... 

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an administrative customer service environment.
    • At least 1 year of experience answering a multi-line phone system in a high call volume environment. With a warm, friendly and professional phone demeanor.
    • Excellent writing skills with a solid grasp of proper sentence structure, grammar, spelling & punctuation.
    • Strong computer skills; with proficiency using of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Sharepoint, search engines, Social Media forums and smart devices.
    • Minimum keyboard speed of 45 WPM.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, problem solve and contribute to the department.
    • Ability to multi-task - handling inbound/outbound calls, verbal/written communication, etc. All with accuracy and excellence.
    • Demonstrated ability to represent ministry professionally and maintain listener confidentiality.

    • Willingness to work on holidays as needed.


    Shift Hours:   

    Friday - Tuesday.  2pm - 10:30pm

    Listener Services is a 24/7 support department and is not closed on holidays. As a result, we generally have a reduced team scheduled on holidays, but it is expected that all team members will share in coverage and annual rotations.

    Vice President of Donor Engagement

         The Vice President of Donor Engagement has strategic oversight and day to day operational responsibilities for directing and managing all aspects of fundraising (Pledge Drive, annual giving, major gifts, deferred gifts, corporate giving, and foundation giving), donor communications, and stewardship to generate charitable gifts that advance the mission of Educational Media Foundation (EMF).

         This position is responsible for leadership of our Donor Engagement, Communications, Major and Planned Gifts, Donor Engagement Portfolio and Data Analyst. Some of the function specific areas will:

    • Serve as the voice of charitable giving throughout the organization, ensuring philanthropy and fundraising has context in the overall mission and vision of the organization, and positioning charitable giving and donor development as an integrated element of the organization.

    • Lead by example in demonstrating a positive, energetic influence throughout the ministry, demonstrating EMF’s values on and off the job and ensuring the Donor Engagement Team Members reflect the ministry’s culture and values.

    • Working with the President/CEO and the Donor Engagement Team, create and execute a strategic fundraising plan with clearly defined goals, time frames, and metrics to include pledge drive, annual giving, major gifts, deferred gifts, foundation gifts, and corporate gifts.

    • Recruit and develop a high-performing Donor Engagement Team that reflects the culture and values of the organization and its mission.

    • Foster a culture of continual learning and improvement for the Donor Engagement Team members by evaluating performance and providing coaching, training, and mentoring opportunities in all areas of fundraising, stewardship, and donor engagement.

    • Build internal expertise in gift planning options and techniques to allow quick responses to donors who have unusual assets or want to create complex gift structures.
    We are looking for:
    • A minimum of 7 years of donor development and fundraising experience with at least 3 years of proven success in major gift fundraising, and preferred experience in multiple fundraising areas such as annual fund, pledge drive, major gifts, events, and planned gifts.

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience building, managing and mentoring a team to achieve specific goals.

    • Experience in donor communications or managing donor communications.

    • Experience working at an Executive Level of management.

    • Ability to work strategically, set priorities, define goals and outcomes, detail tactics, and achieve results.

    • An individual who is energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive.

    • A team leader that can not only inspire and manage a team but also work effectively with the Executive Committee and with the other departments within EMF.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong individual, foundation, and corporate ministry donor relationships.

    • A commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability both internally and externally in conversations with donors and prospects, in marketing, and reporting.

    • Preference for someone with a background in media who understands the dynamics of the industry and demographics of its markets.

    • A passion for Christian ministry.

    • The ability to travel nationally up to 25% of the time.

    • The ability to attend events and donor meetings that may occur in the evenings and/or on weekends.
